I touched a Star

I touched a star one seining night
In a zany haunting flight
And there I burnt and singed my lips
By the brushing of her fingertips

It started out a simple dream
At least to me is what it seem
It was a night of passions vend
So bright I thought it was my end.

What brought about this fantasy?
This lovely touch of ecstasy
I’ve not the slightest hint or clue
Unless it was a phantom you

Thought I try to get it back but
But circumstance had cut it slack
I could not find that star or bliss
Or awe inspiring touch and kiss.

And now I lay me down each night
And wait upon this star to light.

It's a shame some dreams don't come true...and lucky others don't..it would be nice if at least those "really" good ones would come back though....

I suspect I would have read this in a slightly different frame of mind had I not read Toe's poetic response first. LOL

But even though the giggles tickle my lips, I can appreciate the wistfulness written here, sweet Sy. *S* I don't know how many times I've tried to go back to sleep to capture a dream... but the good ones won't cooperate. *G* (Which is completely unfair, since I've had nightmares I fall back into each time I lay back down! LOL)

The moon glows gold tonite ...
I'm counting silver sparking stars ... one by one.
I'll make a wish on each of them just for you ...
so that all your dreams come true when this day is done.

sometimes it comes when we aren't looking so hard for it; i know this is a cliche, but true, sometimes i don't know if it's better to feel that there is something out there
within reach, they we keep trying to claim,
or to just give up..make any sense?

Sy,
you touch the stars even when you are not dreaming. All you have to do to see the trail of glimmer is look behind you.
