Drifting in and out of thought
each one weakens my strength
while trying to put them to rest
without a place to take them to
they come quietly and keep me still
slipping underneath my skin.

Like a feathered blanket of calm
gentle and unwavering
thoughts of you
spread over me
as my temperature rises
both hot and cold
and willing.

Fighting an inner battle
and the onset of sudden chills
wishing to be kept warm
or the right dose of medicine
that is mine for the taking
promising some relief
from the pain that aches
and the fever that burns inside of me.

*I've got it bad*

Hi Lor!  You crack me up with your last line!  Comparing an attraction to the boogie-woogie flu,?  *s*  You have been writing brilliantly, Lor, and smack my hand for not telling you earlier, ok?  At times i look at your words and my mouth hangs open in admiration.

(big hugggssssssss) I had it all bad, now I just feel bad (sad sigh) I understand this fever and how difficult it can be to bear, now all I desired is cold, I wish for true love to always sing to your heart, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Lori, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Good poem. Enjoyed.

I wish to become a great poet some day, but it will only come in time. Til then, I shall write my poems, and wait.

Hi Lori,  sounds like you have a bit of a "flu"? I hope not, just take avery warm vanilla scented bath and let the heat of the water draw out the fever.

Yep, I've had this feeling before......also had the same feeling with the flu last week. Those feelings are  very  similar, aren't they?

Thanks for reading everyone, I appreciate it so much.   I'll get back in here and read all you good poets as soon as I shake this bug off, but right now the nyquil is kicking in and I need to lay down.

Hugs all around~
