Wrapped Myself In Hope

Searching for self-esteem
Still I could never find mine
So  I sought perseverance
Then  knew I would be fine

Years of feeling worthless
Having done nothing wrong
Finding my inner strength
Patience helped me along

The  put me down remarks
Always  left me feeling low
So I put on that brave face
So no one could ever know

Finding ability to overcome
From learning how to cope
Behind my protective shell
I  wrapped  myself in hope

Ridding the internal doubts
Knowing I have every right
Building of my confidence
I encourage myself to write

Hope,

A wonderful way to discover more about ourselves both in journaling and poetry and seeing that which we need to change.

I've learned much  about myself from reading other's poetry. Sometimes with a sense of "It seems you wrote this just for me"  Glad you wrote this encouraging piece. Enjoyed.

Hugs, Pat

I really enjoyed this piece alot.
In Hope is the best place to be...

I too started writing poetry
to make it through the difficult
and, seemingly, unbearable times.
Though, I'm young, 15, I've found
and amazing solace in the peace
of writing.

here's to Hope, and writing

Always, Alyssa

(sigh) Yes, always write your heart out as that is what produces the hope and encouragement we all can use to fuel ourselves with pride! (big hugggsssssss) God Bless You, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Hope, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

HopeS,

Very nice poem.. I really enjoyed.

I wish to become a great poet some day, but it will only come in time. Til then, I shall write my poems, and wait.
