Forgive and forget
Sounding so easy to do
But, is it really
I am asking you

Forgiveness can be done
Though difficult sometimes to be
If we try with our whole heart
We can eventually achieve

But to forget
That's another thing
Just when you think it is forever gone
It returns to linger
There

This is so true, Ethel! Forgiveness is alot easier to do, than it is to forget. And sometimes, forgiveness is hard.

(tears fall down my cheeks) I hate saying goodbye more thaqn anything and having to forget as I feel Joanna will never want to remember me! (wipes tears) I will always remember how she used to love me and how special she used to make me feel, this is very touching, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Ethel, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

I read somewhere that forgiveness can only come from God. Makes sense to me.

Forgetting would be a very ignorant thing to do.....me thinks!

How but not mentioning the dastardly act!

And, how about acceptance; the person was/behaved in a manner which was less than perfect and we choose to allow our feelings to get hurt? Sometimes easier to change our feelings than someone else.

And, then there is the trust issue. If they didn't learn a lesson (usually not) they will repeat it. Especially if they are into controlling others and if they are very selfish....

But, I always say if this was meant to be heaven on earth, there would be no point in live birth.

We learn so much from others and self and besides if I don't accept 'their' behavior, then do I have a right to expect them to forgive/forget mine?

Accept is not condoning, it is realizing we are dealing with another human being. I'd personally rather just smack their nose with a rolled up newspaper, (smiling here)... though I would NOT do that to my dog were it 'bad', just my x-husband....

Good topic, Ethel....  Hugs. Pat
