A Thought About Work

All perfection is flawed
Quintessence is perception corrupted by ego
yet, proud humility is what the Worker
ascribes to achieve
Ah, but there lies the sting:
in apiary industrial lust for honey
for all its efforts and teamwork
to merely provide a sustaining repast,
the outcome will simply become bottled
in flaxen alchemy of imitation gold
and sold to the highest bidder
with the creator's name replaced
simply, and plainly
with the name of the Hive.

Jeff darling heart if it were possible to capture the spirit of your beauty, if it were possible to sculpt the essence of your soul then the result would stun all who saw such wonder. In this delight you have complimented and placed each word in just the right way. There are those who doubt that you are the poet I claim you to be, but no one who has a spark of empathy with art in their soul will doubt that you have written the perfect accompaniment for this wonderful piece of artistry by you.

You know that I love this utterly utterly utterly, it truly is beautiful in both its style its form and its perfect flow

Let the rain wash away the stain
Of might have been’s regretful pain
And let the silent dew of hope
Fill the sense with ways to cope
Rinse away the taste of rue
Replace it with the whole of true
Pick up the chance to do it right
Hold it close and see it’s light
And when time brings you there
To that place of do or dare
Don’t hesitate to do the deed
Take your chance to appease the need
Accept the gift of time and fate
Don’t leave your soul at regret’s gate

Love and warm stuff
As always
Mushy

Tomorrow is another day I don't know what it holds
but I can face the future with courage brave and bold

Sunshine, looking back on it, the verbage was a bit stout, perhaps, but it came out exactly like i thought it, line for line, and transposed it to form.  You are very kind, and thank you for taking the time to share a headache kind of poem!  *s*

Maaasha:  I try, if you only knew, to make each post memorable and as professional as possible, without duplication of common cliche.  That saddens me a bit that i haven't
earned the respect as a 'poet' here yet.  Yet, you keep my spirit buoyant with hope that someday i will have my dues paid.   Shouldn't grouse, i guess, since i have been published frequently as a journalist...but sigh.....i still would like people to say, someday, "Jeff, you mean the poet?  I remember him."

if wishes were dollars
we would all be rich, huh?
smile...thankx Marsha for being such a good friend.
Jeff

I can definitely relate to this, Jeff. We buzz around like bees, trying our best, and it usually just reinforces the overinflated egos of those I affectionately call the "legends in their own mind"

*sigh* too many setting up and breaking down of meetings for the "important" folks today.

Excellent piece of writing, Jeff!

(big hugggssssssss) Poor worker bee wants to wonder what it feels to be the queen, poor moth wants to know how real the flame is, poor ladybug wants to walk like a real lady! (sad sigh) It saddens me to see how we tear down who we once believed in and forget the history of it all! This is powerful, sweet friend, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Jeff, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
