The Perfect Face

He painted strands of golden glow
Like Spanish moss it hung down low
But spun of silk from nature’s thread
That softly lies on feathered bed
And lifts when April breezes blow

Her eyes were jeweled with stones of blue
That lay beneath the wet of dew
And filled with drops from life’s own pool
Translucent waters crisp and cool
The softest tears left unembued

Her face was splendor’s secret mold
From radiance beneath the gold
The crimson red of moistened lips
Reflected in the wine she sips
Man’s greatest treasure to behold

The fairest skin, the perfect face
The fragile nature of her grace
Was to be tainted in its time
A face so tenderly defined
As silken thread spun into lace

All beauty of intrinsic worth
Endowed by painted strokes of mirth
In fleeting time, the artist’s brush
Adorned the moss with morning thrush
His song to be the very first

In subtle blues of dawning’s birth
He softly said, “Let this be Earth”

And then he created the heavens too yanno?  Do you take requests?  How's about giving him his dues for creating the heavens as some of the greatest people I know are up there with him?

Oh Elizabeth, you paint a mean poem. ((hugs))

He is quite the Creator, and I am so glad He gave you the talent to paint this glorious picture in words.
Stunningly beautiful.

Thank you,
Pat
