Flurry Past

Sun, stand still ‘pon this fallen snow
Let it rival thee in shining glow
Crystallize clear this sheen in eyes
Sun, stand still ‘pon fallen snow.

Moon, cast o’er thy milky glaze
On soft sheer sight of snow
Like silken light o’er peaks now white
Moon, cast thee thy milky glaze.

As ‘tween the time of then and now
Shall we rival that cast of glow
While snow falls o’er bed and bower
As ‘tween that time of then and now.

So, glisten in the warm of snow
Though cold this arctic air might be,
Hold, wrest with night, to stay the dawn
And melt the snow for me.

Excellent KJ....Don't tell me you are tired
of the white stuff already....IT is ONLY
January....  (In the 50's here tomorrow...
low only about 33 or so...)  Sorry,  the
devil made me tell you that...

Flurry Past, Hurry Fast! Karilea, I am sooooo sick of the snow, the freezing cold mornings and the biting wind. I am sooooo ready for Spring! Great poem!

This is quite amazingly beautiful

I love watching the snow and watching the silhoutted drops trickle as they melt.
Loved this

Very nicely done Karilea...
I love the rhyme scheme here.
I too have had enough of the cold and snow.
Bring on Spring!

I love the picture and poem< Karilea. And since I have no heat in my house, I definitely am ready for the spring.

Something how in these shorter days where the sun moves further away we need sunglasses. This was lovely.

Your words beguile; I always smile to see what you have written.
For once I knew those drifts which you apparently are smitten.
When but a child I loved the wild winters of the plain.
In the west we say in a loving way, no need to shovel rain!

You've a beautiful way with words.  Thank you.

Through rubble and trouble and dark of night
The yawn of a dawn will hasten the light

Both picture and poem are lovely... we just get the shivers, not the view. LOL

no, the show is your friend. don't melt
the snow. booo. :smirk:

aside from my pro-snow rants and antisummer
tirads, i think you executed this
flawlessly. :smirk: cool.

Karilea, we're supposed to have the coldest night of the year tonight. (I won't let the devil make me tell you the temp...like Barry did..HaHa!!!) But, anyway, it's going to be cold for us. They think we might get a little snow. It would be okay if the freezing cold didn't have to go with it.

Enjoyed the poem...

That's OK, Ethel.  It's 24 here just now, and
wind chills will be -5 below tonight.
It's just a little winter, that's all...
and you were much kinder than Barry.  Thank you...LOL...

and thanks to everyone for coming in to read!

Ahhh, I could use some sun right now in my neck of the woods.  Brrrr it's about 20 here.  Love this poem, makes me dream of warmer days.
