I greedily keep
the finest vintages
for myself
These draughts
made to savour
not swill
Revel in tastes
of sweetest fruit
Captured
perfect and decisive
as a Bresson
Aged with reverance
Revered with age

*** Henri Cartier-Bresson is a brilliant photographer known for capturing "decisive moments" in his work. Perfect images that would lose their power had they been snapped a millisecond sooner or a millisecond later.***

The poem is about those perfect memories we cherish and keep to ourselves.
Forgive a third post but it'd been awhile since I'd written or posted

Raph, friend, its so true, those certain photos capture a whole section of a lifetime, with one click, with perfect timing, evoking memories that we'd buried deep, until we come across them again. i recently found some old photos, and they capture everything i sometimes forget about.  you said this beautifully raph. it has a real elegance and wisdom.

especially liked this line. i'm greedy with my memories too. i think we all are.
lots of love gemma xxxxxxxxx

learning each day, for you and i, our paths have met, i've already learnt that you are love.

What a pleasure
this read is...
and here I thought I was being handed
an excellent vintage of wine...
and instead,
it was something that would not leave
a hangover....

thank you for this!

Raph, when I first started reading, I thought you meant wine, too......

I really liked this. Even though I seem to tell all in my poems, sometimes, there's lots that I reserve all for me  and me alone........

Thanks for the kind words sunshine

christian thank you very much I'm glad you enjoyed it and thatit inspired such a nice response

Ethel I'm often amazed at the depth of emotion and memory, that i can be as open as i am with my writing and in talking to people and yet still have endless memories tucked away for myself.

some treasures are meant for that very special place within each individual--you've expressed this quite well, enjoyed!!

yes, memories, how perfect. Some we do keep to ourselves, and smile over them inwardly reflecting on their emotional impact, and no one else knows. I like it that way. very cool read.
