i walk in nonsensical direction
in warmth of the mid afternoon sun
carelessly casting my shadow
before me, leading myself,
as it were, to nowhere,
anywhere but here and now,
without wind to guide me,
moved forward by curiosity,
and dull intuition,
and the invisible the shadows
that cling to fragments of memory.

behind sunglasses,
true color paints my sleepy canvas
for a while i amuse myself
with nothingness,
reading only between the lines
of the crumbling sidewalk
and cobblestones of backstreet
then something inside
awakens me to the universe
and for a moment, i see heaven….

still a poet wonders how to write…
the seasons blend together
under the warm Oahu winter sun

Poetry is:
Passion, imagination and intellect running together.

Aloha with warmest regards, Cheryl Stewart Koomoa

Wonderful thoughts and images here Cher!
I really enjoyed the read and wondered what it would be like
to be over there visiting you today...it's so bitter cold here.

Oh yes - a WARM winter sun... Be careful with that shadow before you - It means you're headed east... That could be hazardous to all that warmth if you go too far....

Lovely warm words here, Cheryl...

Speaking of pretty ladies

I love that pic.

It's a bit chilly here today as well. Could you send a soft wind of paradise this way to warm things up?

The poem is lovely..

Well, my shadow had beter be on a plane or ship
And it is a tropical storm here today..
I awoke to the rain slapping me in the face and quickly closed all windows and decided to stay home...and Hey, I did my dues digging out all that cold white stuff (for 20 years) and made my share of snow angels till I got too old for the cold..
thanks for the comments to both of ya and stay warm and cozy ,
Cher

And get over here if ya can to visit sometime

Thank you all! Yes a piece of heaven may be found anywhere if eyes open to look and see.
The cracks in the sidewalk had nothing to offer..LOL
Keep warm and thanks again for keeping me going with your kindness and remarks

(sigh) I just go wherever the wind takes me, that is how I get my poetic inspiration however skeptically mundane or bizarre it may appear! (big hugggssssssss) This is marvelous, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Cheryl, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!
