I can always hear your music
I can always play your song
I can sing to you in the night
when the monsters start to roam

I will protect you with my life
I was blessed to give to you
I will be the one standing and applauding
when your accomplished dreams come true

I will cry your tears for you
when sadness steps in the way
you will always have a shoulder
your mother's here to stay

Stop, being frightened
smile your ten year old smile
your braces will come off I promise
just give it a little while

your talent is immeasurable
your creativity high upon the charts
stop your adult worries little one
your childhood can't be bought

sing and dance and laugh for me
in that unique charming way
I love you with all my heart, Angel

Salty, this is beautiful...a Mother to her little girl.......
BTW, mine is grown, but still "my little girl". She hated
me to introduce her as that when she first became a teen-ager.

I like the way you showed your heart in this one, Salty girl.....

I have an 8 year old, right now she is going through all different stages, trying to find one that works for her....I know how this feels, and I know the deeper love from which it comes....be well....smile....it WILL get better....

Awwww....this is so special. Somedays I wish I could have kept my little ones in a bubble so they wouldn't have to deal with the troubles and worries of the world.

This poem is worth keeping!!!

It's that awful/awesome place where we witness their growth and so their freedom, not wanting to let go of the child from the protection of our wing, but knowing we must. Enjoyed

(big hugggsssssssss) Oh Salty, I agree with all my heart and I send angel hugs of comfort out to you and the little girl, as I used to be called strange little boy all the time because of my highly opinionated expressions and autism at young ages! (sad sigh) This is wonderful, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Salty, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

I know what you mean Ethel ….I have three kids and there not babies either, but they  will always be to me.  My youngest loves this poem …I wrote it for her a couple of years ago and she asks me to post it ever so often…..as to reconfirm maybe…*S*  Now we
Are moving into the boyfriend stages …Whoa!
-----------------------

Miah just wait until you have your own….no one can imagine what it’s like until then, buts it wonderful…..sometimes a little scary and hectic….but no comparison to the love you will feel.
---------------------------------------

Lauren I have seen it also…. Trying new things ….finding life time friends…all these things we see and know our children have ahead of them…..trying to make them slow down and enjoy the ride while praying they make the right choices along the way.

I don’t think we get paid enough for this job  *S*
-------------------------------------

quik  ….it’s a heartbreaker for me sometimes seeing how fast they grow up. She is going through the stage of gaining independency but yet not wanting to give up on being a little girl.  I sure want her to stay a little girl as long as possible….plenty of time to be an adult.
Thank you sweet friend for reading

-------------------------------

NewEnglandlazurlu ..If we could just take their falls for them…*sigh*.. You don’t have any of those bubbles left do you?  *S*
Thank you for reading and responding
----------------------------------

enchantingvamp…..That just shows what a loving heart you have.  Thank you!

-------------------------------------------

RSWELLS…. Yes it is…and yes we must.  That doesn’t make it easy though does it.?
------------------------------------------
Enchantress …Thank you so much for your sweet  response

My mother used to say to me,
Things like this sometimes,
Not always in a simple verse,
And did not always rhyme.

"You have a wonderful talent,
Things won't always be so bad,
You'll not always be a simple cloth,
But a glorious Toe-rag."

Very beautiful write. I greatly enjoyed it. Makes me think (even though im a guy) how much my mother has been there for me even through my rough times and through hers. Mother sacrifice so much for thier children, And I for one appreciate it all soo much. Thanks for sharing!

Salty, this would be mesmerizing and perfect
to be sung to a young'un,
soft and melodic
like the song of a mother's love
should be....sigh....
