You said that it wasn't me
that it's inside of you,
but won't you please tell
just what did I do?

Did I fail
to show you my love
or was it already written
in the stars above?

I won't try to hold you
I will let you go...
but what did I do?
Please       let me know.....

I know that you can 'read' me
but can you  'hear'  "me"?

you know...in some ways it is like what children face and have to deal with when parents divorce...it is not their fault the parent called it quits, it is the fact that things inside us are sometimes undeniable and have to be dealt with no matter how perfect or kind or loving the other is... you can't blame yourself for someone else's decision. It may well not be something wrong with you...but something that inside him has to be answered and dealt with.

Emptiness takes many forms..and we can hide as well as deny it...but until we learn who we are and what it is that makes us whole, we can not truly love another.

perhaps...the emptiness just caught up with him...

Donna, Capt. Ron said exactly what I was thinking. He said it much better than I could have, though.

Dear lady, I can't see how anyone with as kind of a heart as yours, could do anything wrong. Enjoyed. Chris

I have to ditto CPhat and although that does not help the pain - until we realize that we can't make ourselves happy by making others happy we will never have that answer.  I feel the pain in this and I ache for you.

oh Donna...it really isn't you. Somehow things change and people grow apart...that's why they say always be true to yourself. The pain in this write is quite deep. hugs to you, and an ear if you need it.

Again, I relate.  And yes, understanding what happened can help.  You've captured the need well.

(big hugggssssssss) Oh Donna, this broke my heart reading as I have the same thoughts to my lost Joanna, as if she never loved me and pretended all along and I think "When oh when will I get my share?" (sad sigh) I send angel hugs out to you, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Donna, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Perhaps it's not what you did or didn't do... but one of those inevitable happenstances that life seems to put in our paths... Keep writing, GS... It helps..
