How Far

How far must I wonder?
To meet life’s need
Stagger and blunder
Cry and plead

How long must I travel
Before I rest
Stunned and unraveled
By the test

What time have I left?
To round the bend
Before I’m bereft
By the end

I don’t have a clue?
But hear the Chime
Of the coming coup
And its time

Is the answer in breath?
Or as simple as death

Seymour, gee, this is a great write as usual, but, why so gloomy? I do hope everything is fine with you dear poet. I guess we all ponder this question at one time or another. But, to-day I don't want to as I have to go sit in the dentist chair in an hour or so. Good grief!! tea & toast hugs, Chris

Sy,

I like the simplicity of the words and the complicacy of the question in this poem. Interesting and thought provoking.

Enjoyed, Pat

Chris,
Sorry and that's not my mood today. I place my poems as I write them and that was on the top of the pile. A for your time at the dentist.

JM,
Randy picked up on the TLC and will be right over. Didn't even ask me if I wanted to come. LOL

Pat,
Your a piller of strength, thanks.

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Seymour, this is lovely, sweet friend, this is so very true and I too suffer this kind of anxiety deep inside wondering if I may ever wonder to where the treasure chest lies! (sigh) God Bless You, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Seymour, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

perhaps the answers lie in how we use the time given and our beliefs in what comes after...

as usual...well done Sy..and one to give some thought to. I enjoyed

How far indeed. We all know the road ends sooner or later, we just hope for a "long and winding" one.

Had me wondering in S1 if you meant "wander,"
but from what I've read of your work, you probably did meant "wonder." A play on words, yes?

Oh, I like this one, Seymour... very much!! *S* I was thinking how much I identify with the first verse... and then the second... and then... and then... and then I knew it really was mine when I read "clueless." *S*

Somber and profound... and absolutely excellent. *S*
