The Letter I Can't Open

I've become accustomed to the precious love
that you won't give to me.
I've gotten used to the rejection.
I accept that you cant see
the way that I adore you.
I've learned to cry inside.
I even learned to smile and live
with the broken heart I hide.

So now after all the rainy days,
lonesome weeks and dire years have passed.
I dont dare to Read
   or Glance
   or Peak
   at Your Letter.
Its here at last.

Love is such a painful thing
It's hard to understand you see.
I've practiced all the words
   the Reactions
   I'll have
If you'll ever talk to me.

But now because of some unknown force
   that I can't overcome.
My hands they shake
My knees they're weak
My mind is going numb.

No I cannot read this letter
this letter I have in front of me.

So now after all the rainy days,
lonesome weeks and dire years have passed.
I'm too afraid to Read
   or Glance
   or Peak
   at Your Letter.
Because its Finally Here.
      At Last.

It's hard to understand you see.
I've practiced all the words~~

I could feel your trepidation,
and know that feeling of a double edged sword.

Nice poem....

(big hugggsssssssss) Oh Joe, I can relate to this with all my heart as my heart was broken New Years Day since I lost my sweetheart, now I am both desperate and scared for another letter for her, because her letters mean the most to me yet is like a poison apple Snow White ate somehow! (sad sigh) I send angel hugs out to you, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Joe, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

"Those" letters are hard to take sometimes, aren't they? The wondering is awful...
