END OF SHIFT
Our Call of Duty rings so true
The uniforms Black-Green-Brown-or Blue
Represent our presence to each of you

However unless you are Family or Friend
Can you truly understand
That for some of us comes an early end

What I speak of is the last call
When are guns do not get holstered at all
And our unit is driven
its last stretch of the street
In the assigned beat

You can also hear the echo of our badge
number on the radio
The ring becomes disheartening
because there is a failure to reply
And everyone sadly remembers why

So I ask all of you to play the bagpipes loud
And think of our accomplishments and be proud
Let the trumpets roar to the heavens
and cry never more
As we are laid to rest
we have given life our best and never
Forget the badge will always be on our chest

A wonderful tribute to those who deserve more credit than most of us ever give them.
