-Those Little Words Ran Away-

I went to speak and the words weren't there
And I don't know where they could be
I've searched the place I had them last
But I think they're avoiding me

I looked inside my bedroom closet
I crawled under my bet to
I really need to capture those words
And deliver each of them to you

Every single of those little words
Were so special in their own way
But now they are gone, I don't know how
I hope they return one day

I think I remember some of them
I would like for them to be here
These words, they were, so wonderfully placed
I even some how made them clear

If one of them happens to find its way back
Although I'm not too sure they would try
I'll make that one tell me where the others went
And then I'll search low and high

When I find each and every one
I'll make sure that they get to you
And if I remember before they get back
There's one thinkg I'm sure I will do

I'd tell you that the one at the front
It could have started with an I
There may have been a love and a you
At the end was a great big sigh

I went to speak and the words weren't there
And I don't know that you could see
That every time I look your way
Beside you I've always pictured me

Jeff,  this is a very good poem,  love the
flow of each stanza...  each being like a
mini-story...

Critique wise,  try working really hard on
your spelling and screen for mistakes.  They
do detract from the art.  And you certainly
deserve the best of what you post.  You are
doing very well at it...

A lovely whimsical piece you’ve written. I wonder why it’s so hard to say those words. I know the feeling though. And if I ever figure out where they’re hidden, I’ll let you know.

This is a great theme, Jeff - Those words seem to escape us all too often, don't they?

Jeff,

You have captured that place where many of us have been, but few have written. It is so difficult to untie our tongue sometimes. Your poem shows your intelligence, wit and poetic talent, all of which I knew you had. Look forward to seeing more of your poems.

Hugs and warm regards, Pat
