Left Coast

She’s been thinking of the coast,
fingering a pink shell
worn around her neck for luck;

recalls spent days floating
on mercurial waves,
hot-cold sand between toes
and grains gathered in cupped hands;

back when she was sweet
in a two-pieced suit,
letting summers drift.

Yeah,  kinda like the days when I was about
twenty,  and everything sorta fell into
place just right....

Cor.  This is a very beautifully written
piece...I could feel the sand and the warm
sun...

I almost felt those warm sands slipping in this one, Cor. You always give us vivid imagery.

Corrine, I'll be glad when summer days (and nights) get here. I love the beach.

Now, about the two-piece suit...there have been better days...HaHa!!

my coast is ten minutes away...and I would have to be mad to get out there in my two-piece right now!

good thoughts, I miss the coast, even though it's right in my back yard.

Hey sweet poet, I think she's still sweet.
Keep those memories floating, even better get back on the water.

Hey and where's that pretty face?

Excellent words but then they always are and my replies seem redundant when commenting on your work.sigh

Hey Magnus - yeah, I know what you mean. Those were the easy, carefree days. Sigh. Thanks!

Thank you kindly, Midnitesun.

Awww, thanks, Sunshine!

Thanks Sey!

I'm with you, Garysgirl! Yeah, two pieced-suit - oh well, they always came off in the waves anyway!  hee hee!

Thanks, sweet Nan!

I'm jealous, Passing Shadows. Careful, you'll have a bunch of roudy poets on your door step!

Thank you very much, Ed!

Park, Park, Park! Where you been, boy? Awww, thanks! Well, got tired of that there pic. Will just have to get another one. How's life treating 'ya up North?

Home. Thank you, Ruth! Yep, that's home to me, too.

Aenimal - don't sigh, I always enjoy your comments - thank you!

Me too, sweet Noah, me too! Hope things are looking brighter your way, sweet one.

Nicely done and leaves the reader with that longing for both what was and what could be...

as for the two piece suit... I'm sure it would look better than you think...
