     the NightJar

Dusky with sprinkled angel tears
a sky whisked with gray fox-tail brush
cleaving demur sunlight into naked eve
The calling of a faraway light with the scent of lonely
the NightJar summons on a bureau
chocked and stocked with gambled stars

Captured moon dust ashimmer
     shook from her fiery hair;
     so faint and sweet
     are her kept secrets.

She trills a blushing stammer
the young girl with sea-shell pearled teeth
and sleepy wishes of the naively sublime
She vanishes on the darkness stairs into twilight
her silken net:  an irresistible siren’s cry
to lure the throngs of a girl's dream
                 into the NightJar

What does she have in that jar?
Nice reflective picture. How's the dulcimer these days?

G-G: how's the life in Fla?  The rose is affixed as a buttoneer, and that was very kind of you to send a bloomin' rose this way!
It's a warm 'reflection' on you to do so!
Shine on, and thank you the sweetness!

While vegging on playoff feetball, i wanted to take a break and thank you, Nance, for the joining the party!  Couldn't be one without either you or...
Noah:  hows you tonight, Kissy-Toe?  This poem was inspired by a dream, where i dreamed my younger sister kept trying to convince our family that faeries came out of her dresser at night.  Have a slice of 1000-post cake, amigo!  Keep that heart-armor tightly on for a while, Noah.  Your friends are behind you in your period of turmoil.
Paul, i was tickled to see you, and thank you
for your well-wishes and balloons!  Cool!
Thankx, y'all!
Jeff

ShadowRider - I like that jar the more I read your writing. She must have left something in there, yes?
