There
is
~a feeling place~,

just
past dread,
beyond dead,

when
all's been said,

I stand, stunned,
as I discover

I'm still in love

with
~You~.

Ron,

Thanks for the comments, all of them  (your comments) mean much to me. Am still practicing, trying to write from mind and not heart. Your reply tells me I succeeded in getting the emotion over, with few words, and left the ache I was going for....

Ethel,

Thanks, how sweet you are. Hugs, Pat

This one has a real ache to it.  Good writing, Pat!

Nicely written Pat,  and the feeling of love

Chris,

Coming from you, that is a real compliment..Thanks

Michael and Sy,

Thank you for taking the time and replies...

Barry,

You are right, it does not...just gets buried...I see anger as fear, though...of what?..Hmmm, maybe basis for another poem? Smiling, thanks

Bill,

Thank you for the very nicely...hugs..

Inked

...true...but, this is not a current event...just trying to sharpen writing skills, using mind, not emotion, when writing...but, this feeling is there, I am sure...TY

Richard....Ha! Love your mind! Thanks for taking the time to read and reply; I sure appreciate it.

SmartChick,

I believe any who have lived probably does...part of life..thanks for responding...

Goid,

Thanks to you...glad you like, yes, love is awesome...glad you are past turmoil...so am I..spiritual, YES!

Noah,

Don't kid yourself, no one can forget you in your entirety and don't forget it! hugs and love and smiling here...

Karilea,

Nice poem you wrote, but, since you and I have never spoken in e-mail nor on-line regarding poetry writing, I cannot imagine who your friend is, but surely not me...

Am glad you like this; I'd like to see you try it....I, personally have always liked very short, to the point, poetry, if done succinctly...am trying many themes and formats...I figure I still have about 500 more to go before I decide if I'm very good at poetry writing...thanks for your reply.

Am surprised at the response to this and I appreciate all of you taking the time to read and reply. Thank you.

Hugs and warm regards, Pat

Pat,
i think not everyone has that level of self-awareness to admit that to himself..i think too that it's better to feel and be hurt than it is to live through life, suppressing your real emotions...

nice work!

Kaile,

Of course, you are right in that it is better to feel and be hurt. However, for some the damage done is almost immeasurable, and some can handle rejection better than others. It is simply not cut and dried, for relationships are very complex, as are human beings.

I don't think we deliberately choose to consciously suppress real feelings, that is an act of nature, a safety valve, if you will, to protect us, similarly the way shock works, both mentally and physically...

Again, it is important to feel and grieve....and be done with it...but the time element can be from now to fifty years from now...depending the degree of harm done. There are many in prison today, female and male, because of inability or, refusal to accept lost love...another whole chapter I'm not going into. Also, one other aspect I've learned is about patterning and if you follow back your feelings, and relationships, some often find the original source of pain was from/with a parents lack of love, too much love, the wrong kind of love..and when one can view that and grieve it, it usually ends all pain...

Thanks for your comment.

Hugs, Pat

Pat,
apparently, i have not really been seriously hurt so far and i guess such immaturity shows...thanks for the enlightenment..one thing i am always trying to change is how i constantly see the world from my own perspective, so much so that i neglect that other people feel and behave differently because of varying life experiences...

really, thanks for speaking so candidly..i appreciate such honesty...too many people i know try to be diplomatic and hesitate to help me grow...

Kaile,

There is NO immaturity in you whatsoever. I see a highly intelligent, thoughtful, caring, insightful person. To want to know more is the height of living, as God intended, I think...

Your poetry speaks of  maturity and insight many twice your age do not have. Those are your gifts and I appreciate them every time I read one of your poems.

You are perfect exactly the way you are. BTW, I answered you in the other poem, Re: God and Re: my son....

Hugs and warm regards, Pat

PS..anything I write is simply my opinion and believe me, I've so much to learn....forever changing, God willing... smiles here....
