the ass-end of space

Destroyed the gates
to find the answers
Though questions
never cease
Void
within without
begs its fill
But I grow tired
of the search
for things
that do not ask
to be found
Closed eyes to
fickle world
Adrift in those within
The taste of flesh
upon the tongue
Remnants of skins
shed or devoured
Reminding me to point
the finger inward
from time to time
Am I alive
or am I a lie?

I see introspection and perhaps some self criticism is the order of late... you write this well..and my only answer to your last question is that we are both..alive and a lie... trick is to try and be more alive than a lie...sometimes not an easy balance.

Great inward look Raph, and great picture too!  Definitely alive, I'd say, even in the midst of self-doubt episodes. Don't get too microscopic though, pores can be scary up close.

my fingers are just nails
not yet driven into the warmth of wood
or the dark skin of earth

would they have been wings
if prebirth was a vote booth
instead of a bed

your concepts are cellophane steel...
the capture also is bladed keen
enjoyed it

Raph, you certainly are writing very deep these days....

I'm like Barry, don't look so close that you don't like what you see. We have to love ourselves and remember that we are never perfect.....no matter how much our parents or anyone else has tried to   MAKE  us be......

BTW, I like your picture.......

This cannibalism could be described as self-absorption, in the best of ways.

youre bringing my head down,

go sit on the rocks at the shore a while, get some air and sun.
you know i like the poetry tho,
and lose the shadow on your face, you dont need to hide yourself -

why in the hell do you have to write
such, pessimistic poetry. damn, it's
especially bad when you can captivate
and invite people into your world with
your words. damn you. :smirk:

i enjoyed it nonetheless, keep on ..
keep on.

I agree Cpat and thanks for sharing, it's true it's about the balance between the two.

Thanks Kacy I know I'm going through a phase
so bare with me

Dark Stranger that could be the greatest response ever, not to take away from you all of course!!!

Thanks for both compliments Ethel. I know maybe i'm too dep inward to see the light.

Thanks Ed it is definitely self-absorbtion and only because I write of it is there any merit to it.

Inked I like it in the shadows

Thanks Pat appreciate it

Thanks Magnus I just can't grow without looking into the shadow from time to time. But agree with you all that maybe I'm too deeply entrenched in the self to see anything. maybe I'll surprise you all and write a happy poem one day.

Damn it Chris i don't know!  Thanks for the compliment nice to get feedback of any kind but i don't mind the postive kind too much
