gathered shells
decorate the shore
their voices still sing,
as seasons begin,
too soon blending into
the background on shelves,
as others take the stage,

the voice within,
staying near, though
somewhat dimmed,
re-emerges now,
surrendering
to its womb in the seas,
the heart of its home,
for renewal and welcome
of its long ago song

I love to listen to seashells. They sound so mysterious.....

beautiful m'lady.

You took a favored theme of poets and managed to give it a treatment that made it new and fresh through your eyes.

now you've touched
an inner shell;
the song of sea
that dwells
within me

thanks for the inspirational read

inkedgoddess - a story told, one written from the ink of a pen held by the goddess...
