The water was smooth but for his own wake,
All alone paddled across the small lake,
Carefully dipping with strokes slow and long
Pausing between each to hear a bird’s song.
On another day he would bring his pole,
This time he was fishing inside his soul,
Content to watch the day slowly pass by
And watch the water reflect back the sky.

Thank you, regards2you,
Being not much of a fisherman myself,
Thought fishing appeals more to me
Glad you enjoyed

Thank you, Nan,
Pleased you liked it,
We need days like this, even if in make believe.
