--- You'd Think ... ---

You'd think by now
I'd know the deal
You'd think I'd know
It's never real.

You'd think I'd know
It never stays
You'd think I'd known
She'd walk away.

You'd think I'd Know
The story's end
You'd think I'd know
We'd just be friends

You'd think I'd know
That vows are glass.
You'd think I'd know
How long they last.

But on the sofa,
Here I lay
With hope the morn
Might bring that day

That day that
Lonely knocks no more
When Solitude
Will leave my door.

You'd think by now
I'd know the deal
You'd think I'd know
It's never real.

You'd think when I see your name come up...
I'm in for a good read!
And...I'm right.

Gerald, Jerry?.....well, here's hoping you won't have to wait much longer.
You certainly captured what many go through. Enjoyed.

Warm regards, Pat

Gerald, I hope that you'll meet someone who turns out to be real one day......

That is, if this is concerning you....

Cpat Hair,
Thanks. I think once you reach a certain age, you appreciate the simplest things in life as opposed to the grandest. I enjoy a sunrise, a calm summer evening and an I love You from my daughter. But you are right, I guess that IS what kept me going for a time.

Magnus,
I begin to realize that my name DOES fit me. Perhaps a destiny. Thanks for the read.

Enchantress,
Awe, thanks so much. I try to take my time and write slow. I know everyone writes some bombs, but I try NOT to hoist em on you nice people. [Big Grin]

Bill Charles,
I wish I woulda' thought of them SOONER. [Said the cynical poet]

regards2you,
Thanks for the read, and taking a moment to reply. I'm okay now that "I know" ... I think.

garysgirl,
     Thank you kindly maam.

vandana,
I'm glad you did. Thanks for the read.

passing shadows,
Thank you as well. Now I must get busy reading what you nice poets have been putting out there.
