Faithlessness (01/09/03)

Oh but to be able to recognize you from afar
To loudly proclaim just who you are
Raising my mighty sword in offense
Never believing in your pretense

You are the evil that has flayed me so many times before
I have yet to make a score

You have caught me countless times by surprise
Thinking you would be my demise
But to your dismay
Not dead but wounded did I lay

So now I have felt your lance upon my heart
In the process learned to discern your part
Hated betrayal of love and trust
I will be making the final thrust

And recognize you from henceforth, I will
No longer blinded, your fate will be stamped with my seal

This poem may be referring to a lover but it could also be referring to many kinds of experiences.  It touches my heart.  Write some more like this, please.  Barbara

Now sweetest, if I read everything to you, you wouldn't have any surprises from me when you come here!!  The "war one" is "Freedom's Bell".

love you,
Euwy
