                   Onslaught

The vibraphone is all alone.
Wasted away are the wicked ways of the church organ
   Moog.
A funeral procession of synthesizers
And knob twiddlers
Kept only in memory and mental
      Visualization.
The lonely vibrtions
Sending soulful waves of
Synthetic sympathy-searching seductiveness
Similar to the social barnacles of the
         American Lost.
We've seen the Beat back down
To the dull doldrums of drudgery and over-exposure
Finding it impossible to maintain
The image of "Beat"
When your blue jeans are starched
And sponsored by the san fransisco
Coffee Scene.

We've seen the hippie flag
Flying two fingers in stance of peace.
The forefinger broken
When Macy's held a clearance on bellbottoms
And on tolled the bells of marriage!
A requiem for idealism,
When the future comes knocking.

With one finger left standing,
The middle, a banner, a voice
(administrative edit)
Punk rock came to give a cold-cock
To disco balls and cocaine
Giving way to New Wave and the
Continuous consumption of the
Latest crave
The craze of boy bands and now...
the supposed "Return of Rock".
    Whatever.

We'll last as long as we can
And that's all that we can do.

For now, show some love to the lonely vibraphone.

I liked the edge in this.

Fortunately here in New Orleans, vogue is unheard of, and by the time trends reach us, it's a "has-trend"--and I was so appalled to see New Orleans become a trend too. Glad that is over with.

I liked this much. I see you are new here, so WELCOME. And you might wanna look around some. We have a Mature Content forum where the language is less censored. Good luck to you, I will be reading.
