Lonliness (01/01/03)

I would write my misery in a song
But contrary to the cliché, there is no one to sing along
I wear my sorrow alone
A blanket of solitude I don
Freedom has cost me company
There’s no one to comfort me

I know it takes time for wounds to heal
And I know someday I will once again feel
But the loneliness is holding me down
I’m not sure “happily ever after” can be found

I ache to be loved for mind, body and soul
I cry silent tears to be touched until my heart is again full

So here I sit
Penning my desolation in word
Hoping this time I might be heard

loneliness is not much of a friend...and certainly a cold companion... your words are heard by all that have felt it and experienced it....

So true, and you captured lonliness so well. May all your dreams come true.

You have managed to perfectly pen your feelings here.

misery's song
here echoes long
voices pleading
answers needing
in canyon's each
we sit, beseech

Perfectly captured - i was listening to some Garry Moore as I was reading this and coincidentally the song that was playing was "Stiil got the blues for you" - the music seemed to provide a poignant bed for the reading. Look forward to reading more.

God bless and keep you, Namaste!
