Past
yet
memory smells so young
growing
beneath present
that doesn't yet have
its trademark
scent.

learning each day, for you and i, our paths have met, i've already learnt that you are love.

gemjop~
I'm liking this one...the whole idea of it.
This part...

   "memory smells so young
                  growing
           beneath present"

Love the thought and feel of those lines.
Creative and beautifully done.

(big hugggsssssssss) Oh Gemma, this is beautiful, sweet friend, forgive me as I am crying as this reminded me of Joanna and how I miss her so much before she changed! (sad sigh) This is very touching, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Gemma, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

The new scent
Becoming familiar with time spent
Turned to known
The longer it stays in the home.

sort of like the Christmas tree
seemed a shame to get rid of that nice pine smell

thank you again for the replies.
Yes Gloom, your reply made me think. i could smell the tree, and feel the familiarity. i love how every time you get that first whiff of christmas tree in your home, its like a new memory every time. it reminds me of childhood, and the excitement of xmas, yet its intertwined with a smell of fresh new nature.
Unfortunately, for some reason, this year, our tree failed to smell at all! i was denied!   ha ha. i was NOT happy.
lots of love, gemma xxxxx
