standing on a shadow's lace

I wish I knew
how to
extract salt
from tears
if I
could do it
I would do it
for you
I have lived
my life
as a shadow
just the trace
of a lingering
the whisper
in an echo
inadequacy
or the lack
of it
has taught me
strength
I am brick
against all fires
and I, yes I
will protect you
for after all
what really is
the lifetime of
a candle’s wick
and I know
first hand
the pain it takes
to become
a pearl

"It is like looking for a blizzard in a glass snowball. Unless you shake it up not one flake will fly."

h,
you've done it again with your inspiration . . .
(and thanks, I need it)

among the river's stones and river's bones
i found a mussel's shell along the way
from long ago where crushing damage to it fell
was left inside in rosy silver tones
a sunset's glow to brighten up my day

PHENOMENAL!

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.
