MOODS

I hang,
Somewhat haphazardly
In the wardrobe
Of my mind
The clothing,
Of my many varied moods.

Thankfully,
Not appearing to fit,
Are the jackets of despair,
Emotional imbalance,
Despondency and fear,
And other upheavals.
They are no longer needed.

The cloaks of selfishness,
Jealousy, impatience and anger,
Are frayed around the edges.
But they are becoming non-existent,
Of little importance.

I wear the hat
Of thankfulness,
Jauntily, upon my head.
Dressed accordingly
I am aware
Of the many blessing
In my life - yesterday, today
And tomorrow,
That is yet to be.

Threadbare, well-worn,
Looking the worse for wear,
Are the dresses of joy,
Love and contentment.
Adorned in my tattered frocks,
The wardrobe, of my life,
Is full.

I am an enigma, even unto myself.
A puzzle unsolved, a mystery maybe until beyond death.  ©das
