How could it happen?

The sight of you,

I'm like an
excited butterfly.

Spirit,
   looping,

~losing all grace~.

My heart rushing
to dizzying heights,
suspended,
swirling.

And,
mind
  soaring,
like
a bird
intoxicated
on ripened
Piracantha berries,

though,
boundaries set
  long ago...

Yet still,
I smash into
imaginary glass walls.

How could it happen?

The sight of you, and
I am madly in love,

all over, again!

scratching my head..

how does one give a butterfly a sobriety test?

"Fly a straight line?"

this matches my giddiness today.

Ron and Serenity,

True, I could have cleaned this up a little, and chosen a more poetically pretty theme such as using the nectar of love, etc.  But, I wanted to capture the commonness of falling head over heels, without rational thought...

It is risky using the title, but....very real. Birds really do fly into windows, when eating Piracantha berries.....somethg. they wouldn't do normally, for they know better....
boundaries, you know?

thanks for your comments...smiling here.  Pat

I think you caught the assault of one-lovemanship quite well...that head over heels wallop that comes to some, now and then...

Good job, Pat.  Left a smile!

LOL at this one. I think I've experienced that glass-smashing flight pattern before.

Oh I love this!!
Know the feeling well...almost a clumsiness..
A head over heels feeling of giddiness.

Pat, I love the way you captured this feeling,
and the common everyday language that you captured it in.
I like this kind of poetry, as you probably can tell by what I write.
It seems more real to me, somehow....even the thought of a "boozed-up butterfly"..HaHa!!
I love that title......

To all,

Laughing here, I have edited this, however it is not showing yet, and not sure it will. The term boozed-up isn't a term I ever use but seemed right at the time until I saw it printed....my point was that I wanted to capture ~common~, but alas, I captured crass, I think....

well, so it's not my best poem....
there are worse things than boozed-up butterflies and when I think of them I will NOT be inclined to print....

thanks all for reading, Hugs, Pat...

Yep, Sunshine, I knew you would comment on this one. To do it twice without the edit showing is interesting.

Sure glad this is keeping you laughing.

Pat,
I think I like the image of the boozed up butterfly, which is better than the butterfly floosie. All up, it is a giddying poem. I wish I had read this before posting Mythunderstood, then I would have had an excuse.

Just to say thanks to ~All~ of you  for your comments. Yes, that instant falling head over heals in love (in lust?, in infatuation?, who knows since it usually doesn't pan out) is giddy, to say the least.

hugs and warm regards, Pat
