Nearer to Thee

Snowflakes fly like old memories
On a winter morning
without warning.

Sentimental times bundled with you
awakened in my arms
life far away from harm

We built smiles from angels and snowmen
Taken back to the first
winter of our blessed birth

You and I, precious love, we live to love
so dry your fanciful tear for
merry is my heart, my dear

Leave your troubles in summertime
Here we are, golden and white
Nearer to thee, a future's bright

Perched high on Heaven's highest star
gazing on where we have been
watching our breath, cold and thin

How to say all the words shouting in my heart?
saying, as I knock upon love’s door:
“I'm so very happy, just to be yours!”

hello

apart from the "thee", which I think should be "you", I like this. My dad keeps telling me to drop rhymes, but sometimes they work better, like in your love-letter.

Jeff this is so beautiful..
such an outpouring of love..
I especially like the thought of
"Leave your troubles in summertime"
Be well...be safe...be happy my friend.

Jeff darling heart and speaker of my soul, when your words fall on my soul I am moved and spellbound. There is within your writing what can only be described of as pure magic, anyone can write, but not everyone has the power to sway the audience. Perhaps I should amend that there are writers who can tap into the emotions of their readers, but there are fewer who can do it not just once, not just on the occasional poem but over and over and over again. YOU can and you do, you take the written word and transform it, you make it alive, and rooted in the reality of the world. I thank you always, for sharing the wonder, and showing me the colours that flow through my soul, you paint the rainbow darling heart and you do it with grace and abundant skill.

As for this utterly utterly beautiful poem I say I love it absolutely, it is utterly splendiferous. Truly one that is a keeper darling heart, and so I shall place it with the rest of your sparkling gems in my heart’s treasure chest.

Don’t look now Jeff but you are standing arrayed in beauty, and it suits you darling heart it suits you so well. Give my love to Dulcie, and tell her she is very precious to me, as are you too, I’m sure she knows, but tell her anyway. And while you are dishing out loving hugs please pass a few kisses onto Batman, and tell him he’s a rogue.

Love and warm stuff
As always
Mushy

Breathe through the heat of our desire
Thy coolness and they balm
Let sense be dumb let flesh retire
Speak through the earthquake wind and fire

passing shadows

In bubbly steam you presented your heart to me
I grasped it eagerly, without reservation
though the winds blow cold outside,
there is warmth in cozy cuddles
~~heartsighs~~

I love it, and you...~~soft smile~~

(big hugggssssssss) Oh Jeff, this is so beautiful, sweet friend, please forgive me if I may sound overemotional as I have been feeling very sad missing my Joanna as I always seem to cry now thinking of love! (sad sigh) This is a true gem, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Jeff, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!
