Red stained,veins,
tiny cracks on an eggshell
How eyes do burn
for sleep..
Out of their corner
I catch the shadows
that scurry by
Pieces of me
broken free
for a look
without restraint
of the outside in
Whispers
and murmurs
I hear
I feel
They do not like
what they now see
For I am no longer them
or they are no longer me
Or
perhaps
I just need
to sleep

I've seen those shadows so many times and never wondered that this is what they might be! I loved this poem Raph; ah the children of insomnia...

sleep yes,
but out of restlessness comes the above,
try the warm milk and cookies, also, what about the left hand right hand shake to knock you out for a while

Could be Dixie could be, thanks for the read

Thanks Rainbowdust, this poem came out of a chat i was having with serenity blaze at about 4 in the morning, I actually said this at one point in the converstaion and then thought it would make a decent poem

Speak of the witch, we are like minds so the compliment goes both ways K, hope you're feeling better
