I heard footsteps around midnight
padding down the hallway
approaching my train of thought
and I imagined you there.

In the distance a whistle blew
bridging my infatuation
a trail of smoke hung in the balance
tunneled through a revelation.

Steaming in the night
crossing over my heart
as your cloak flew and swirled around me
suspended from the bluest moon.

You held your arms out
as we waltzed through the air
and danced in the wind
to an apparition of love.

The warmest breeze kicked up my heels
a sudden flurry that made me dizzy
raining star dust from the sky
as I closed my eyes and time stood still.

Save for a whispered tease
in a summer nights dream
when I'm needing you
it comes to me.

The whole of my adoration
my sole inspiration
like a lover who holds the key
turning over in slow motion.

The mind wanders late at night
with pleasant thoughts
and we, but the reader of their whims.

Of your poetry of late, this one I enjoyed the writing in the most, Lor.
