New Year's Resolutions

Resolutions are those lovely things
That you promise to keep each year
But as they are just wishes of mind
You never come around them I fear

They roam your mind for quite a while
And then you lock them away somewhere
Until you release them again next year
With a smile on your face you say you care

I often promise to clean up my room
But somehow it always stays a mess
It's the thought that counts, I use to say
When the piles get higher in stead of less

Like scattered leaves...my words will flow
