It was an innocent trip on the Internet
Aimless wandering in the night
Searching for a bit of muse
To end my writer’s blight

This photo touched a chord in me
A lonely landscape far away
A land unknown to poet’s muse
What tug did this photo betray?

I could walk alone in this dawn
Listening to the crickets trill
Wistful thoughts of someone
Takes away the morning chill

I might as well be in Latvia
In the day’s golden sunrise
It’s as close as I’ll ever come
To see the passion in your eyes

Ahhhhhh, the picture suits your sentiments well.  Made me think of all the places I dream of going but will most likely never see.

Very nice~

Latvia huh? Maybe there is a man just waiting there for your poetry and passion.
Ask the crickets, they always know what's happening. At least Jiminy was always on top of things.

A fire midst a gypsy camp? A tree bursting in flames? The sun burns through the haze and we must believe that love will find a way. Enjoyed

Our muse likely resides within rather than without - I expect yours is there in your heart - Given the chance to speak - as it has here so well ...

I'd be willing to wager, too, that there are some equally enticing pictures closerby if one were to seek them out... Arizona is a beautiful place for a sunrise, yes?

Thank you all for your kind words! It's interesting where we get our inspiration isn't it. For some it's music. I've lately started looking at landscapes for mine. Thank you for reading!

This is a fine one Sharon, inspiration is wherever you find it.

Say, I saw a hawk eat a snake the other day, I wonder if I can pull something out of that . . .??

ah..distance comes in more than one form..seems sometimes no matter how close we are physically the gulf between is vast...

here is to hoping that if you might as well be in Latvia..then the one whose eyes you would like to see is there with you.

(sigh) Latvia must be a beautiful quiet and spacious place like Norway or Sweden, i ttoo would be intriguing to see colors just like those! (big hugggsssssss) This is special, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sharon, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Sharon~
I do love it when your muse gets inspired.
This is beautiful, my friend.
