Here I Am
By: Noah Eaton
1/3/02

Here I am, in a Salvador Dali dreamscape
Losing myself in scrapbooks of memories
Here, they are no revolving doors or emergency exits
Just a microcosm of a world left to breathe in

You opened Pandora's box
Set all peace into anarchy
Exaggerated your ulterior motive
Turned your back and kept your fingers crossed
You shook the world like Poseidon
Left David struggling to maintain balance
And as the last fallen hero said his final words
You tried to erase them from your mind

All you wanted was harmony
But you jumped the gun
And then you screwed it up

Here I am, in a Salvador Dali dreamscape
Losing myself in scrapbooks of memories
Here, they are no revolving doors or emergency exits
Just a microcosm of a world left to breathe in

You stole the trident as your own
But your fear acted like a tuning fork
Force of havoc, then you stumble
Split your empire like a fjord
You thought the honey was sweet
But it was all brown sugar
You tried to maintain your health
With a Confucius supply of ginger

All you wanted was harmony
But you jumped the gun
And then you screwed it up

Here I am, in a Salvador Dali dreamscape
Losing myself in scrapbooks of memories
Here, they are no revolving doors or emergency exits
Just a microcosm of a world left to breathe in

Take a bath, wash your feet
Like Mary Magdalene
Make new friends, keep the old
Some are never certified gold
But love your neighbors
Find the time to pray
Reconfigure the whole precession
Seize the day, don't let it feign
What would you say if you looked at yourself in the mirror
And saw your youth decay?
Have an apple a day
Keep the doctor away
Even when you feel uneasy
Accept every opportunity
Even when it seems contradictive
And when you wave goodbye to me
I will wish you the best
As my strong feelings for you are inevitable
But please don't forget me...
Please don't forget me...

"Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..."

Daliesque. Trapped in the seams of life. Time to go to the art museum and find some new dreamscapes. It's really hard to keep your head above ground when your heart feels like it's been sucked into a deep bottomless pit. Hang in here, Noah, and keep writing.

I feel the devastation and the pain and I am sooooo sad to experience the feel of this even to a small degree and know that the full degree I can not even fathom....
God knows there are no words one could say except I love you my friend and my prayers will be with you, Noah
The ache.....
hugs and prayers sweet friend,
Cher

Noah,

What I feel in this poem is your strength, wisdom, compassion and even understanding. It is amazing to have such, during this painful time. You are an extraordinary poet and human being. It isn't so much forgetting you but realizing what ~she~ lost. Such a kind, loving man, you are.

I am so glad to get to know you through your poetry. My heart goes out to you and you are in my prayers.

Many warm hugs, Pat

Lovely gathering of familiar phrases and a poignant ending. You will not be forgotten by me, I'm too sure.

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

I like your intentional use of cliche to make your point here, Noah.

Forget you? How could anyone forget you!

Oh Noah, it's just awful how sad you are. Is there anything we can do to bring a smile to that sweet face and cheer you up?

I can assure you, no one here is ever going to forget you!!

Lots of hugs, Marti

Hello Noah! Neither of us really know each other..never spoke really..you may not even know my name.
But I do know that you are one of the few beautiful people left in this world from your posts in these forums..I would feel privelaged to know you and to have you as a friend would be a blessing..
so dear Noah, try to cheer up, for its a new year, and wonderful things shall come your way...you will get what you deserve, and you deserve to be happy!

Beautiful write, sometimes sadness and pain raises our artistic abilities. I am sad that you are sad but happy to be able to read your lovely works. Joy will be yours.
