girl at the drive-thru [acoustic #8]
  ------------------------------------

sundays are so cruel, sitting on this stool--
  waiting for the next fool
[to drive up the window] ..
can't really hear the birds chirping
  kinda sounds
like they're cursing at the raindrops that are falling
  down, down on the ground
  creating a sea of sadness,
  as my happiness drowns
and these smiles turn to frowns-
these clowns [won't leave me alone] ..
and the world is such a jumble and the clouds seem so
  gray today ..
  but that's okay
because as long as you say, "hey".. then i'll be okay.. i'll be okay

i'm still trying to figure out the dream
  scream[ing] at my--
  self esteem, trying
to contemplate the sandman's scheme ..
but all you seem to do is smile and throw me off guard,
turning me into this nervous wreck
as I start to stutter ..
and these eyes start to flutter,
mutter[ing] words that don't even make sense.
so many voices in my head now, I don't--
know which one to follow ..
  and these legs to jello
  here we go, again
as the curtains open--signalling for the show [to begin] ..
then the light shines on me .. everybody
  starts to see,
the misery that comes with insecurity .. and it feels like
i am the target of some conspiracy
walking this alley--alone, with a dictionary--
[trying to find the words] that'll take me back, to reality ..

the clouds seem go gray [today] ..
  but that's okay,
because as long as you say, "hey".. then I'll be okay .. I'll be okay.

  and here i go again
  my weekly trip to insanity,
  counter-clockwise ..
ruled by the sun-rise and the super-size fries
where you can revise your lies and the sky
  always cries.
some people say I'am crazy, others say I'am stupid
some people say I'am lazy .. others say I'm crooked.
sunday is such a cliche .. that tends to replay the gray [clouds]--
  and the fudge sundae ..
filled with endless rain and endless pain ..
tied to your chain, fighting to maintain [my peace of mind] ..

sundays are so cruel, sitting on this stool--
waiting for the next fool [to drive up the window],
  then you smiled
and the clouds turned gray ..
  but that's okay
because as long as you're here beside me,
everything's gonna' be okay .. yeah, everything's gonna' be okay ..

  ----------------------------------------------
"and i dont want the world to see me
because i don't think that theyd
  understand,
when everythings meant to be broken
i just want you to know"

  [goo goo dolls]
  ----------------------------------------------

This reminded me of when I was younger and my brother could never go through a drive through without trying to arrange a date with the girl at the window...it seemed to work pretty well for him...James
