My Cloak As I stand before the clear blue water I wear my life’s cloak tightly around my body I know that I should let go of my cloak, and walk into the waters cleansing embrace After all, my cloak is so miserably shoddy I know I am responsible for its inferior condition I know that I alone have woven it with a cheapness that has no taste Yet I stand, clutching its familiarity, scared to let go of what I have made Scared to know if I could have done better I scream for someone to rip it from me, and push me to my rebirth But I know it has to be me to let go So a part of what I have always been As I stand before the clear blue water I stroke my cloak and wonder when |

This poem expresses such stark vulberability. In my experience that takes much courage. Well done. Peace and hope to you.  If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again. |

Well said, and the cloak, so symbolic of our outer shell....that part of us that protects...does all you have said... I think it is much better repair than you might elude to.. |
