The Test

No tears upon my soul may reach
No lover does my heart beseech
No echoes of the wasted years
To haunt me as my ending nears

No heartache over deeds undone
Besiege me as my course is run
To leave me squander my last days
Remorseful of my questioned ways

No righteous critic speak to me
Of misspent opportunity
Nor timid soul invoke my wrath
By mentioning my wayward path

For I have walked this path prepared
By Him to measure how I’ve fared
A test that He may judge my worth
A test beginning with my birth

To no one else be I compared
For none of them my test has shared
Condemn me not, my last request
For I alone may take my test

Fred,
I understand, but can't get used to monastic life. Well done.

Welcome (back home) to Passions!
We each have our unique tests in life.
Wishing you sweetly scented wysteria blossoms, all year long.

Love it! Exactly the way I think also, wish I could have said it like that.  Brilliant!!!

Gentle breezes,
Wafting through my consciousness.
A pleasant awakening,
Reminding me of the contentment's
Of my life.

Sunshine;  Thanks for the warm welcome!  It's good to be back.

Sy; Thanks my friend but believe me I am monk-like in appearance only.

Midnitesun; Thank you and thanks for the flowers.  They arrived with your message.

Passing Shadows;  I barely knew me then either.  Thanks.

Nan;  Thank you, that's like getting a star from the teacher!  I haven't been writing for a while.  A little rusty I'm afraid.

Spirit;  Thanks and I'm very pleased to meet you.

Sharon;  Thanks for the warm welcome and for still being here!  It's good to be back.

garysgirl;  Thanks, they ARE good folks aren't they?
