The Flames of War

I am a casualty of war
A dance upon the worlds dance floor
A cryptic censors destiny
And look at what it wrought of me.

It took an angel born of love
And turned it to a mourners dove.
Mangled it in twisted life
And stifled it within its strife

It brought my eyes to see the fears
Each person crying lonely tears
It set me on a road of bare
With trees that hang with deaths despair.

How can I pass this road of weed?
This road that holds a world of greed
This formula of doom and lust
That takes away our childhood trust.

With generations born anew
The chaos starts, each life’s renew.

Good writing Sy!
These lines sure say a lot and I appreciated the thought...

Good Morning Sy,  It is good to look back in time, but we also need to learn from it. And it seems we may not have.

Again, I am reminded that my two boys could go of to some horrible land to fight for oil rights under the guise of freedom.

Hugs to you my friend, Marti

Great sentiment Sy, especially given all the fronts on which we are poised to fight.

True and I have my fingers crossed.

It just doesn't seem to be in the right hands.

JM,
I think we'll let Randy be president and I'll be his "vice." LOL

Very thoughtful write Sy...Mankind has invested so much time and money making instruments of war....the simple act of sitting down with each other and working out the differences never gets full measure..

believe in what your heart feels...

I wish we could learn that war brings death, death brings pain, and pain more war....the cycle needs to be broken.  Your poem is saying everything I've been thinking lately...I am right there with you.     Peace to you.

I missed this jewel, Sey, the first time around, much to my dismay.  Ah, but to borrow the time to see all your great work would make me in debt for two lifetimes.
