Listening to every heart

Insomnia

Where does the story start,
And the beginning, does it end?
Is it only in our mind?
Or will roads then find its wend?

A story started, I had begun
I sit in stall, and wait…
It was a moment of pure fun
And then began its fate

I sit in think, a ponderous tank,
A well of great extent…
Several tell me, and I thank
Them for wishes, but I am bent

For it begs to me, “Continue, please!
The story has no end…
Does King or Spielberg know no ease?
Or with ends do they contend?”

I am sorry for the time I waste
In want of, “do it right”…
I fear that I shall never taste
The future, and its bright.

I hound myself, devil I am
And spear my own heart so
While others say “just do it, then…
We can sell it to so-and-so!”

“Sell my words, my love, my life?
Sell it to whom?” I ponder.
Would you sell, your child, your wife?
This thinking leads minds to wander.

Whom is all this writing for?
But for to express one’s self?
Will it open any doors?
Or stay stacked upon a shelf.

I think, perhaps, the time’s not right,
That things weren’t done in a day…
And yet I’ll spend a sleepless night,
For words to come, I pray.

I think I have found someone else who suffers
from the same affliction...or is it??

Nicely said Karilea...how well I do relate

How very well said, I am in awe of your writing.

My perspective of me is different,
As I look out from within,
Than that of others on the outside,
Trying to look in.     ©spirit

Karilea..Perhaps there are some of us who just don't want the story to end.
And...how can we truly sell our child..without the pain of giving it up..
of closure.
Even though we know there will be another on the wind soon enough.
Ohhh dear lady...I think we just know.
Love this...I sure do.

Karilea, you do realize that you have enough talent, compassion,
and wisdom to publish, don't you? I certainly do hope so, Lady.
You are such an excellent writer that I think you could even
write a novel. I'm well aware that I'm not an expert, but I
do read a lot and you, my friend, can write as well as the best......

Karilea--Yes, I sure do understand this quandry...to finish, is it death, or a new beginning?
