Slowing down
rolling through a blind intersection
that wrapped around the hills
pulling up all the stops
kept on going,  farther than I could see.

Feeling lost as the road ran out of town
taking a sentimental journey through my heart
giving way to places I have been
I pulled over, killing the engine
and tried to catch my breath.

Behind your eyes I watched the sunrise
beside myself as it rose higher in the sky
I remember you when on a Sunday drive,
all those days we couldn't keep
and I knew I would never pass this way again.

Measureless miles marking the time
turned me around and brought me back
so I wouldn't break down
or be left stranded on my own
before the sun went down on me.

I remember drives, too.  With the top down...(the cars).

Hey, sis.  Yeah, one of the things I still like to do is just go out for a long drive.  Enjoyed this.

a trip that all of our heart has taken in the past and the memories that made us who we are today
made me think of a special car ride in the counrty that i haven't thought of in years
