Breaking into the Montreal Music Milieu?

People's attitudes... gotta give them a chance
it isn't like you wanted to be part of their group
or expected them to act in a certain way
there are two ways in letting oneself succeed
either you work your way up from the bottom,
emulate an established figure
or recognize a peer's success
or you keep other person from advancing
by continually stepping on them.

I've resigned myself to accepting both ways
am stoic about not wanting to get involved in cliques
that put you down when they don't know the music you play
and have just heard through second channel's that
you're difficult to play with
and in fact it's usually the other way around.
you get labelled as being difficult for coping out
when it's the other musician who crashes out on you,
can't get his act together
blames it all on you.

You got to give people a chance to be who they are
a lot of them are just naturally closed
so it's natural to form insular groups
that exclude other performers
and they concentrate on their own form
to the detriment of exchanged opinions
Pity that the other art forms are excluded
pity that both parties may become disillusioned
then there are those who are open to new techniques
and don't feel threatened by external sources
that are likely to establish new courses
not just initiated from the self
but in collaboration...with the rest
since we all share this planet.

heard this before?...everybody wants to be a somebody
to many it doesn't matter who you slight
along the way...
but they may change one day.

Keep all the doors open, let the music blend naturally, free of restraints and preconceived emotions.
