did I tell you
my life was going great,
overlooking shadows,
now carrying the weight of the world
the weight of the world on my sholders

how can someone else's problem suddenly be mine,
now my heart is racing fast.
just have to get it out,
just let that rain pour down.

crying,
can't see through the fog,
too much to bear, can't breathe,
it's not my fault,
it's not my problem,
it shouldn't be my life that's being burned

For once this is true. I can't really tell you what this is about but I feel so terrible. Nothing else that has ever happened to me (and this is indirectly)has hurt me this bad. Oh god help me, help my sister!

Never be normal!

Here to hug you...
I have a sister, and her tears are mine, as is her smile.  I understand this part very well.  Let the tears flow into the capable hands of your poetry, and be strong for both of you. ThisDiamond

This is very touching. It is quite honorable that you are not betraying the trust granted you by your sister.

Though there is the outside chance you found out on your own.

But, even adults sometimes need to seek outside help, for themselves, if they are carrying such a load, or for someone else.  If you can't talk to your parents about this, how about a school counselor. Your family doctor. A minister. Even the local hot-line for teen-aged problems.

If writing has not helped, please seek help. No one should have to carry this kind of burden for someone else. It is one thing to be compassionate and sympathic, but another to allow anyone to do this to you. You will have your own mistakes to burden you. And, by you remaining quiet about what happened is not helping your sister deal with it at all. I am willing to bet she needs outside help, too.
You wouldn't be betraying her, it just might be the correct move to make for most likely she hasn't the courage to reach out and she'll eventually thank you. Hoping it all works out. Teen-aged years are some of the most difficult you'll have to go through in your entire lifetime. Asking for help is an intelligent thing to do.

Hugs to you, Pat

Liz, sweetie, I'm so sorry that you are having this "unbearable" burden on your shoulders. I hope and pray that whatever this problem is will be cleared up very soon. Your devotion to your sister is very touching, little friend.
We all love you here at PIP, and you know that writing about hurts and pains in our lives helps tremendously....even if you write about something you don't feel free to post, it still helps you to write your feelings down.

My prayers are with you and your sister....

Liz! friend, at last, you're back? been looking for you, noticed that you've posted replies, but no poetry lately, but now i understand why. youre missed when your thoughts arent overflowing on these pages u know!?
Liz, from this pain , i also see how wonderful and sensitive a person you are. some people arent even able to recognise someones problem, let alone take it on and feel the pain as if it were their own like you have. you have a sensitive open soul. dont worry yourself too much, with your support, and our prayers for you, everything will work itself out in the end.
Very much looking forward to when you're up to posting some of your thought provoking words again.
Lots of love, gemma xxxxx

learning each day, for you and i, our paths have met, i've already learnt that you are love.

Windy one....yanno....if I ponder back over my life, and it's sad downfalls etc., I think the saddest parts for me haven't really happened to me....but to others I care much about.....nice warm thoughts here, being a friend...whether to family or friends is the best way to overcome these kind of feelings....

Your poem breaks my heart.  I rarely see such deep feeling in poems.  I really think that is why poems were invented.  They give those of us who live with pain a way to cry with words.  I want you to be better but I know it will be difficult since it is your sister having the problems.  Barbara
