Nestlings

I watched an Owl attend her nest
She did her very, very best.
With every flight she brought a mouse
Without a gesture from her spouse

She preened and nurtured to their needs
With mothers love and tender deeds
And never stopped until the day
They tried their wings and flew away.

Now some will think upon this sight.
To catch the symbols of the write
And read it to their present lease
And weight the gestures of surcease.

Perhaps there is a message here
A message that is very clear
That if you don’t attend your own
Then you will live and stand-alone

So treat the world a birthing nest
And try to do your very best.

It is poetically just and appropriate that I begin this day of the new year with the lessons of your wisdom rhymes...cant think of a better way to start off today...or the next 364 than a winkie from you.

Sy,

I like the title. Nestlings, neat word.

I have learned however, attending our own is no guarentee they can fly, for each soul belongs to God, and flying lessons, often come from Him, in ways parents can't teach. Of course, there are those little birdies who just love to jump outta the nest before it is time. That first step is a zinger!

But as implied, we do our best. A wonderful poem and food for thought,
Happy New Year to you, dear, special poet. Thank you, you give us so much.

Hugs and warm regards, Pat
