~Friendship can't be forced~

Without a familiar tone of voice
and the lack of expression in ones eyes
do we lose the truer meaning
that supports genuine friendships
in a virtual world
opposed to the real world
tell me it isn't so~

Where do we draw the line
are we not one in the same circular motion
dare we pretend to be something we're not
I ask you, are we creating fantasies
to act on and believe in~

Are we split down the middle
given to multiple personalities
seeking instant gratification
searching for our soul
as if it were possible to conjure up on a whim
and run with it, to where~

We can only be the best that we can be
like it or not, it's up to each and every one of us
nobody walks in our shoes
I for one have too many to count
and you wouldn't want to try them on for size,
don't ask~

But I would give to you my last penny for your thoughts
a little something to remember me by
I've no fantasies to live out
no illusions of love,
what will be, will surely be~

Even though my world is not always a pretty one
it is what it is and I am who I am,
and to you all I extend my hand
take if you will
or walk on by and let it go~
