Some live
in constant awareness
that the sun will rise
that the moon will shine
and nothing will change
until you die.

How strange
to think some hope for nothing more
than to live to be old
and to die with lovely flowers.

I’d rather live
in constant awareness
that there’s more than a final sunset
for I’ve seen the rainbow
and the goal
is more precious
than gold
