Addiction

I need your presence
I seek your smell
I am addicted; I need to inhale

The sleekness of your shaft
The burning at the tip
I am addicted; I need you against my lip

One day my love for you will surely kill me
I so wish we had never met
But until then, pass me another cigarette

Will the wind remember the names it has blown in the past?
With this crutch, its old age and wisdom, it whispers no ... this will be the last.

This is very good. I don't smoke, nor do my siblings but our parents did.  My Dad used to say he'd go out with a cigarette in his mouth and a beer in one hand and a 'bird' in the other. He pretty much did just that.
