Hi, everyone. I am not a poet, but sometimes I try to dabble, hoping I can just put one foot in into this very privileged world..

(a poem dedicated to the Muse of poetry, who has abandoned me for quite a while.)

I go in search of my Muse
she has left my vessels dry.
Moonlight in savannah
evokes no magic in my mind.

Savannah was where the Muse lived,
held hands with me, poured out
words, like rapids cascading,
filling my earthen jars to overflowing.

In savannah I found heaven
while my Muse played with me
we danced the wild fantastic,
frolicked in the sun.

One morning she was gone,
her shadow nowhere in savannah.
In chambers unknown
she lies in deep slumber

I beg the wind whisper her name
my voice floating weak,
aimless above savannah,
she insensitive, shows no mercy.

Now my pen drags, words elusive
as I watch the darkness
settle over savannah
inspiring me no more.

jj, if I may...  I think your muse made
the trip,  and is there tapping you on
the shoulder, as we converse....

Welcome to Passions,  the miracle of our

Jjote, if this is the first of your muse tapping, then I do believe you are in for a roller-coaster time.  Once a muse begins to visit...they really have no intention of going back out the door from which they entered...

Looking forward to more!

Thank you for your kind words everyone. I already feel very welcome.
The muse left me ages ago, and I still search for her.*sigh*

I'm just going to quote you:

'I am not a poet, but sometimes I try to dabble'

And then I'm going to contradict you - oh, but I think you are a poet. I understand about the muse leaving - I myself haven't been able to write a poem in months...I think this one is fairly good work for someone without a muse, can't wait to see what your work is like when the muse is present lol...

Welcome...
