You check your list, you push your cart
Up and down and through the aisles.
Waiting for you at the check-out
Is a lady who's all smiles.

She stands beneath a three foot sign
That reads "TEN ITEMS OR LESS."
You've counted all your items,
So you know you belong in Express.

You've kept your items under ten,
So you'd be out in a jiffy.
Think again, deluded fool.
The checker's skills are iffy.

Since loads at Express are so small,
It follows,like A,B,C,D
That's where they put the checkers
Who tend to be less than speedy.

Now just how true is this?  I even put the darn barcode the right way for them and they end up looking for it, but we should be kinder ya think?  They are probably learning and it is such a low paying job, and a hard one.  However, this was funny and oh, so true.

May a handshake, smile, kiss or a hug be the best present you give or receive this year.

Haha. The grocery store Express line is like the Fast Food line. I avoid both.

This is so true.  Have you noticed in a restaurant also, the less patrons the less service. I really dislike no acknowledgement of my being there for 10 minutes or so and the coffee brought closer to the end of the meal. Got to tell you though, neither job I would want or could do efficiently. It's a 'Murphy's Law' situation all right.

I am an enigma, even unto myself.

Yep a phunny poem.

Of course, at our Safeway, it's the experienced checkers, it seems, that get the 15 or less lane...the 9 or less lane is usually checkerless.

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

Dom, this is really cute, and oh so true....Goodness, I hate to have to wait for the cashier because she's (he's) so slow. Especially when I've only got a few items because I'm in a hurry.......
