Lost in thought

I could savvy up my words
And speak with greatest ease.
And I could write like a professional
As if to only tease.

I could spout out all the times tables;
As if that really counts.
And I could diagram a sentence
To a miniscule amount.

Yeah, and that’ll get me far in life..
I laugh upon the thought.
I’ve been taught all of the basics
In the economic plot.

I hold a faith so strong, though,
You’ll see me sway howe’er
But a grasp of all my inside
Made me realize that you’re there.

You’ve seen my youthful writing;
With my twisted, strange, technique.
But you haven’t seen me smile
Nor ever listened to me speak.

I know little of your lives,
Except existence holds you fare..
For I know the heart of poets,
And each writer’s simple prayer.

I come to you in plain ole words;
My rhyming voice and all.
Just telling you, my poet friends,
That every time you fall..
To write a little, let us know
And get back up again;

To keep your heart in proper place
And never lose your pen!

(I didn't sleep all night and THIS is what I came up with.. haha, I'm doomed for something!)

Brilliant - I wish I had had your self-confidence when I was in my thirties, let alone my teens. Can I ask for your autograph now????????????????????

A very good read, Alyssa. Sleeplessness can be inspirational, can't it?
Enjoyed the rhythm and sway of this piece.

Thank you both.. and, uhh yea I always threaten to throw my pen away too. or try to get people to take it from me.. Which many people have tried to do when my err depressing poetry depresses them!
did I mention I'm really talkative.. I think it has to do with the sleep (lack) also. But its good, 'cause I can't stop laughing and... ok I'll stop now.

gidday! and good year!

words of wisdom set to rhyme...
cadence is one of my fave words too
well done!!

Will the wind remember the names it has blown in the past?
With this crutch, its old age and wisdom, it whispers no ... this will be the last.
